What It Takes to Throw a C West 4th of July at Pleasant Harbor Marina

Behind the Boom

Every Independence Day, the fireworks aren’t the only thing lighting up Pleasant Harbor Marina — our production rig is, too. At C West Entertainment, putting on a massive outdoor event like this isn’t just about bringing speakers and lights; it’s about strategic planning, high-level coordination, and having a crew that can adapt, execute, and still enjoy the show.

This year’s 4th of July celebration wasn’t just another gig — it was a full-scale AV operation, bringing sound, lighting, video, and event power to a waterfront venue packed with families, boaters, and music lovers. Here’s what really goes into making something like this happen.

Planning for Perfection (or at Least Controlled Chaos)

Live Music & Concert Production Company In Arizona

Pleasant Harbor Marina is beautiful — but it’s also unpredictable. Wind, dust, blazing heat, and limited on-site infrastructure meant we had to prepare for anything.

The biggest threats:

  • Long cable runs across uneven dirt

  • High heat stressing gear and team

  • Limited stage power

  • No second chances (everything had to work the first time)

So we overplanned — because that’s what you do when failure isn’t an option.

The Gear List: No Corners Cut

This was one of our largest mobile builds of the summer. Here’s just some of what we deployed:

  • Line Array System with Subs – Enough power to cover the entire waterfront with clean, dynamic sound.

  • Digital Mixer, Microphones & Stands – Total control, clean signal, and the flexibility to adapt as needed.

  • QSC Monitors & KLA12s – Reliable stage monitoring for artists and announcements.

  • Band-3 Lighting Kit – 8 moving heads, blinders, washes, and pixel tubes — our full lighting rig created a synchronized show that elevated the night.

  • LED Video Wall (6.5’ x 8’) – Displayed sponsor content, live crowd shots, and visual hype throughout the evening.

  • Wireless Comms – 8-person system to keep our team connected across the large venue.

  • Cable Ramps & Audio/Power Packages – Safe, organized runs through high-traffic zones.

  • Lighting & Video Engineers – Not just gear — the humans running it make it all possible.
